The board is seasoned with organic, food-grade coconut oil. We do not use varnish, paint,, or chemicals that are toxic on the board. the board is 100% nontoxic and the coconut oil application is only to improve the water resistance of the board
the board should be rinsed with warm water after cutting oily food. use a mild soap to rinse off the oil content when required. Do not use harsh chemicals. Always dry your board immediately after washing. do not leave food to dry out on the board. if there is food particles lodged in the board, use the back of your knife to scrape off the lodged food particle before washing it. Always keep the board upright to ensure proper ventilation. do not leave the board in the sun.
No . this board does not have a hanging hole but does have an engraved handle on both sides of the board for easy handling. the handles are engraved into the board to enable you to pick the board from the counter top.
Yes, we do suggest you use both sides of the board for an even wear and tear. This way , you can use both sides of the board to wear out evenly and extend the life of the board. while one side is designed with a juice groove, the other side is plain .
We do not recommend directly putting hot objects or food on the board. Let the food be less than 50 degree celcius before placing it on the board. this prevents too much exposure of heat to the board. While the board can handle medium heat, placing a searing hot piece of meat straight from the grill is often not recommended.
